My Photography

I have been photographing my travels and experiences since 1967.

I started with a Kodak Instamatic 25 and in 1968 my first set of images using Kodachrome 64 slide film were taken in Hochsölden, Austria on a school skiing trip. Developing costs were included in the film cost but still cost me most of my Saturday job earnings for a month.

I bought my first SLR camera (a Practica) in 1975 and moved to digital in 2001 with a Minolta Dimage 5 3.3 megapixel camera.Unfortunately many of my early images from 2001 to 2002 were lost due to a hard drive failure - Remember to have backups!

In 2003 I bought my first digital SLR; a 6.17 megapixel Fuji S2 Pro. Along with the very large dive housing and underwater strobes, this travelled to the Red Sea and The Maldives. In those days, aircraft baggage allowances were very generous!

My photography kit now includes Nikon and Panasonic Lumix DSLRs as well as a DJI Mavic drone. These have travelled with me to many countries including Brazil, Tanzania, Thailand, Hong Kong and Egypt as well as many countries in Europe. I now back up all my images from my PC onto a QNAP NAS storage system to ensure I don't lose any more memories of my experiences.
